Catering Assistant who is a fast learner with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions, is required at Dronfield Hall barn.

TRAINING PROVIDED – kitchen experience is desirable; training will be provided for the right candidate.

SALARY: £11.50 per hour

LOCATION: Dronfield, Derbyshire

JOB TYPE: Shifts.  Weekend and evenings will be necessary.

WORKING HOURS: 15 hours per week + Holiday and Sickness cover

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Catering Assistant in our historical venue coffee shop.  We need someone who is a fast learner and can work unsupervised and follow instructions.

As the Catering Assistant you will support the Kitchen Manager ensuring all kitchen areas are clean, tidy, well stocked, crockery and cutlery is washed and prepared to ensure smooth running of our daily service.

Working as the Catering Assistant you will help to provide a positive dining experience for our customers.

Our kitchen is about creating a wonderful customer experience, presenting beautiful, tasty menus and offering daily specials in our coffee shop.  You will also be expected to help prepare food for special events, (wakes, birthday parties, small weddings, art festivals etc).

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with a friendly team to help spread the word about our wonderful venue. Our venue is in a historical barn dating back to 1430, all profits generated through the coffee shop are used to help maintain the upkeep of the barn and gardens, which is a registered charity.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Catering Assistant will include:

  • Daily cleaning of all kitchen areas
  • Washing all kitchen equipment and all crockery and cutlery for the coffee shop
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean during service times and that all walk through areas are kept clear of any obstruction and that floors are kept dry.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff.
  • Baking a selection of cakes weekly

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment.
  • Ability to follow strict instructions in a systematic and consistent manner.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

Whilst kitchen experience is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate.
