Last night, we announced the winners of this year’s Dronfield Wildlife & Natural History Group photography competition. Entrants joined us, along with Mike Firth from the Dronfield Eye – who also acted as one of the judges, together with Jack Baddams.
We had some stunning entries this year, and, as Mike confirmed, the standard just continues to get higher and higher with every year. Keep a look out for the full judge’s comments to be published in our autumn newsletter. But for now, here are the results of the three categories:
Overall winner and first place in Clouds category: Lindisfarne Castle – Michael Hardy
Second place in Clouds: Cuban Fire – Debbie Hasland
Third place in Clouds: Keeping an Eye on the Weather – Suzanne Brindle
First place in The Natural History of UK Churchyards category: Ladybird – Graham Gill
Second place: Berries – Charles Seymour
Third place: Adult Little Owl – Norman Crowson
First place in British Wildflowers in Spring category: Wild Garlic – Norman Crowson
Second place: Early Purple Orchids – Michael Hardy
Third place: Untitled – Mick Fairest
Congratulations to all the winners – see more images below. Our thanks must also go to Harrison Cameras for sponsoring the competition for another year.
