Join John Sutcliffe, Dronfield Hall Barn’s Artist in Residence, as he takes a look back at some of humanity’s great achievements (and some low ones) from an artist’s viewpoint, giving insights into what makes us human.
John questions what causes people to make things and what impact these have had on our world. He will trace these from ancient to modern times addressing issues such as taste, beauty, and tradition with reasoning why today’s art is the way it is.
John has a Master’s degree in fine art practice and education, having many years teaching experience and is known for his light shows and fine art exhibitions in the Midlands, and has presented at the Tate Liverpool. Through his involvement at the Barn, John holds weekly art workshops in The Peel Centre on most Thursdays from 1:30pm-4:30pm.
