Join Kath Priestley in this free-motion machine embroidery workshop

Learn how to use an ordinary sewing machine to ‘draw’ with thread and create unique patterns and images with stitches

You can find out more about Kath and her work on her website.

Suitable for beginners and those experienced with a sewing machine, you don’t need any experience of free- motion machine embroidery but must know how to thread and use your own sewing machine for basic sewing.

In this fun, relaxed and friendly session you’ll:

  • Learn the basics of free-motion machine embroidery (drawing with stitch)
  • Create your own design, developing your own knowledge and skills
  • Work at your own level and pace, with plenty of ideas and examples available to inspire you
  • Have access to a variety of materials, threads and embellishments

In a small session of 6, I’ll be on hand to help you to develop your knowledge, skills and designs.

You’ll need to bring your own sewing machine with a darning foot for free-machine embroidery –  you can easily pick one up online on sites such as Amazon. Do check it fits your make and model of machine, and feel free to email me with any questions. If you have a manual for your sewing machine it may be useful to bring this along too.
