National Garden Scheme Open Day
Sunday 19 April 2026 | 10:30am – 4:30pm
Visit the gardens at Dronfield Hall Barn as part of the National Garden Scheme Open Day.
Entry to the gardens on the day is £4 per person (children go free). Tickets can be purchased online (direct with NGS) or at the gate, with 100% of proceeds donated to the National Garden Scheme, supporting a wide range of UK charities.
Light refreshments will be available to purchase from our coffee shop throughout the day.
Beautifully restored over the past 10 years by dedicated Dronfield Heritage Trust volunteers, the gardens surround the Grade II* listed medieval barn dating back to 1430. In April, visitors can enjoy a stunning display of tulips, including border plantings, potted varieties, and species tulips in the rockeries.
The gardens offer year-round interest, featuring native trees, a medieval herb garden, shade-loving perennials, and spring bulbs. A garden tour and talk will also take place during the day.
The garden and barn are on one level, though the main garden is situated on a slope. A hard-standing path runs from the top to the bottom of the garden to aid access.
