Dronfield Hall Barn would like to extend a thank you to Joyce Emmens, one of our volunteers. Due to her recent fundraising, we now have a defibrillator on site at the barn.
There are many benefits of having an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on site. They are designed to be easy to use for those who may not be specially qualified and restore heart signal to anyone who has suffered a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). The device offers a fully automated life-saving emergency therapy quickly, and are portable and operable by anyone. They are designed to give shocks automatically, and the rescuer does not press any button.
Statistics show that an AED increases a SCA patient’s chances of survival by 75%, a figure that increases to 80% when combined with CPR.
Our defibrillator is located behind the door nearest to the courtyard room.
