Come and find our more about the Lady who built Dronfield Hall Barn
This Thursday we are delighted to welcome social historian and barn Trustee Maureen Taylor to speak at the Old Dronfield Society. Maureen will be giving an illustrated talk on the Life and Times of Lady Alice Deincourt who we believe built Dronfield Hall Barn. Lady Alice was great aunt to Richard III and descended from the two most powerful families in the north of England. She probably never came to Dronfield but was Lady of the Manor when the high status Medieval Hall was built in 1430. Maureen will discuss Lady Alice and other powerful women who were her contemporaries.
