Warm thanks also to the Ramsden family who have kindly donated Fanshawe Gate Hall books that were written by Cynthia Ramsden. Cynthia lived all her life in North Derbyshire, and she became a passionate garden. She died in August aged 85.

Fanshawe Gate Hall is one of the most popular private gardens in the county, and has had thousands of visitors over the years. You can read her stories from the garden in two books, A garden in my life (2001) and Garden Tales (2009) which cost £10 individually or £15 together.
