We were delighted to see so many of you attend our second ever Medieval Festival last weekend – despite the poor weather on Saturday,  we are pleased to report that the event turned out to be huge success.

Knights in Battle once again enthralled the large crowds with their armoured and unarmoured combat displays. They certainly inspired our younger visitors, who staged their own combat battles with swords and shields that had kindly been made by our volunteers running our ever popular children’s craft activities.

Hawks of Steele also proved to be a popular attraction – with many of you having your photo taken with one of their stunning birds and sharing them on our Facebook page. Scroll further below to see if we have featured your image! Along with the their gorgeous eagle, barn and tawny owls, Hawks of Steele also brought along several different birds for the crowds to admire, including a lanner falcon and red tailed hawk.

We must thank all our wonderful stallholders, which provided to be a welcome retreat from the poor weather on Saturday. Returning favourites  provided a wonderful range of food, drink and handmade products for visitors to sample and purchase.

Our thanks also go to our ever enthusiastic team of volunteers, who once again freely gave up their time and helped provide the festival with a welcoming and unique atmosphere. It was great to see so many of you in medieval costumes!

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon – stay tuned in 2019 to hear details of when we’ll be running the festival again.

With thanks to Adele Brown, Clare Pyatt, Jayne Pickles, Lucie Bolsover and Nadine Hills for sharing these wonderful photos with us on our Facebook page!
