David Hey is Emeritus Professor of Local and Family History and an Honorary Doctor of Letters at Sheffield University. He is a trustee of the project to convert the medieval building into a heritage centre.

Published by Books at the Barn an imprint of The Dronfield Heritage Trust. David has donated his rights in this book to the charitable trust so all proceeds go to towards preserving and keeping the Grade II* listed Dronfield Hall Barn open to visitors as a cultural activities, heritage and learning centre.
