Explore Dronfield and learn more about the town’s history with the help of our second Heritage Trail, which is now on sale at the barn for £3.
The booklet will guide you on a two hour walk through the Drone Valley area, taking in over 30 historic landmarks – including the likes of the Coach and Horses pub, right through to The Old Police House on School Lane. Each location featured also includes old photographs depicting how the scene used to look compared to today, as well as a fascinating written description, detailing the history of the building or area.
You can buy the Heritage Trail booklet now, or why not pick up a copy during our research exhibition – which opens on March 8th. Join the Dronfield Hall Barn Research Group, as they hold “Take a Walk Down High Street”. They will provide a fascinating insight into the houses and lives of the people who lived in them based on their census research. The group have carried out months of research and provide us with some of the stories that influenced the development of the area. You can come along and find out more about the local area or your own family history as the team will be on hand to answer your queries!
A second new publication will coming out very soon to coincide with the exhibition, where you will be able to find out much more about the research group and their interesting work. Stay tuned for more details on when it will be on sale.
