Dronfield Heritage Trust would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Sheffield running club, Steel City Striders, for their very generous donation of £250.
The club have donated the money to Dronfield Hall Barn’s ‘Walks at the Barn’ group, which is responsible for the maintenance of the Dronfield Rotary Walk as well as several other family walks.
The donations will support the cost for the new roundels with the Barn logo on – updating the route and replacing those that have disappeared altogether.
Any remaining funds will be used for timber to carry out repairs on the route. This can include stiles, steps and surfaces – the trail has been in place now for 17 years so is in need of some refurbishment.
Alongside this work we are reprinting the route leaflet complete with new images from our other partner societies including the Old Dronfield Society, Dronfield Wildlife and Natural History Group and even the Dronfield Botanical Illustration Group who will provide pictures of the flora on the route. We are planning to re-launch the walk very soon, and donations like this help towards that.
