Just like many other charities, the last few weeks have provided the Dronfield Heritage Trust with unexpected challenges. Your donations help us during this time.
Whilst in normal circumstances we’d be busy preparing for our Arts Festival right now, the coronavirus pandemic has suspended our usual programme of events, activities and bookings. For the past few weeks, we’ve therefore been operating a collection and delivery service of fresh produce and doing our bit to try and support the most vulnerable in our community.
Despite this, in these uncertain times, we still need your support more than ever. That’s why on #GivingTuesdayNow, we’re encouraging you to support us so that we can continue to play an important role in community life. The lockdown has meant that we’ve lost all our usual income streams, and your donations will help us get back up and running sooner when we are eventually able to re-open to the public.
Since opening in 2016, the Barn has provided volunteering opportunities for local people to get involved with our project, supporting their well-being and reducing isolation in the community. We also work with local schools and support individuals with additional needs. As well as our regular team of garden volunteers, we also have many others who help with the running of events, including our popular Artisan & Producers’ Markets, work to research future exhibitions, and welcome new visitors to the Barn. Many of the volunteers are missing the social interaction that the Barn provides, and your support can help us to continue to engage with them.
We’re grateful for many of you who continue to support us from home, and we continue to engage both volunteers and Friends through regular online updates and features – including newsletters and ‘From the Archive’ features on our social media profiles.
Giving Tuesday is a fantastic initiative which encourages you to support charities, social good causes and help local communities, and spread word of what they do. Don’t forget that you can donate to us directly through our website – please give what you can, as every act of generosity counts!
