It’s due to be a busy winter here at Dronfield Hall Barn, with plenty of events, activities and workshops taking place over the next couple of months. We’re delighted to be able to confirm the details of our 2019 Winter Festival – see below for further information.
Exhibitions
Our programme of exhibitions continues, meaning that for regular visitors to the Barn, there will frequently be something new to see in our courtyard room. Make sure you support all the artists and check out their work:
Derbyshire Arts Cooperative – Monday 11th-Sunday 24th November, open daily from 10am-4pm.
This group is made up of six artists, who all work with a wide range of different media. They’ll include Heather Arbon (contemporary textiles), Lottie Adams (lino printing), Peter Martin (woodturning), Sue Gorman (ceramics), and will be joined by the group StitchPrintPaint. You’re sure to be able to find unique gifts for the difficult-to-buy for people in your life!
The Arty Crafters – Monday 25th-Sunday 1st December, open daily from 10am-4pm.
A group of four friends, known as The Arty Crafters, will be exhibiting with us at the Barn from November. The four members of the group are: Anne Turk (pet and wildlife pastel artist), Ali Thomas (pyrography artist), Chris Turk (woodturner) and Pam Thomson, (quilting, needlework and patchwork). Come along, chat to the artists, and see their work!
This Painting Malarkey – Saturday 14th-Sunday 15th December, details TBC.
We’re looking forward to welcoming This Painting Malarkey back to the Barn from December, as they present a brand new exhibition. Come along and see their colourful and uplifting work and meet the artists. More details to be confirmed.

Christmas Mini Market – Friday 29th (6pm-9pm, Christmas light switch on 6pm) & Saturday 30th November (10am-3pm), FREE ADMISSION.
The last of our Artisan & Producers’ Markets for 2019 takes on a Christmas theme at the end of November. Held over two days, join us on Friday night for a mince pie and mulled wine, and see the Dronfield Town Council lights also be switched on in the Manor Gardens, before our market concludes on Saturday. Come and find those perfect Christmas gifts!
Christmas Bistro Night – Wednesday 4th December, 7pm-10pm, £27 per person.

Stained Glass Taster Workshops – Saturday 7th December. FULLY BOOKED.
Fancy having a go at making striking stained glass Christmas decorations? Come along to our taster workshop in the Edward Lucas Hall, The Peel Centre, on Saturday 7th December, from 10am-1pm or 1:30pm-4:30pm. No previous experience is needed and all materials will be supplied to enable you to complete your pieces during the workshop. We regret that due to the use of soldering irons we are imposing a minimum age of 16 years.
Christmas Wreath Making Workshops – Tuesday 10th December. FULLY BOOKED!
Back by popular return, our Christmas wreath making workshops will once again be run by some of our garden volunteers. Materials provided – £12 per person, book through our website or ask in the café. Places remaining on the morning and afternoon sessions, but we regret to inform that the evening slot is now fully booked. Workshops will take place in the Peel Centre.
