Join local author, Laura Wake, and learn to develop your fiction writing skills on this supportive, practical course at the Barn from September. You will do writing exercises, discuss different techniques, look at how great writing works, and share your fiction as it develops through weekly workshops.
Whether you are considering creative writing for the first time, or a writer wanting motivation or structure to sharpen up your technique, this is a course for all!
Laura has taught Creative Writing at Sheffield Hallam University and for the Workers’ Educational Association. She has a Masters Degree with Distinction in Writing, and a First Class BA Honours Degree in English. Her first novel ‘A Monster by Violet’ was published in 2017 by Urbane Publications and was longlisted for The Polari Prize, and The Guardian’s Not The Booker Prize. She is currently working on her second novel.
Please note: this event is NOT organised by Dronfield Heritage Trust. All bookings are therefore through Laura herself – please contact her on 07969 774 793 or wakelaura@gmail.com to register your interest. The price for the course is £165 and it lasts for ten workshops.
